Katawara - A Journey from March 11th, 2011

傍〜3月11日からの旅〜

Japan/115min./2012

After the Great East Japan Earthquake, I spent one year by the side of victims in the disaster-stricken areas, which meant to remain by the side of “human lives” forced to face the harsh doings of nature. We journeyed to the disaster-stricken areas with a camera as if we were making a visit to our ancestors’ tombs.
Each one of those who lost their lives in the disaster ...
We will never forget any of those victims ...
Our camera captures the silence which lies on the other side of words quietly spoken by the people. Spring comes, then summer comes, followed by autumn. And then spring comes back again, like lives going forward to the future.
